Recruiters often receive resource requirement emails with details such as required skills, experience, location, and availability. Finding the right candidates from a large resume database can take a lot of time. What if an AI agent could understand the recruiter’s email, search the available resumes, identify suitable candidates, prepare a response, and even schedule a meeting with the recruiter?
That is exactly what we will explore in my upcoming practical technical session:
In this session, we will build an intelligent Recruiter AI Agent that connects Microsoft Outlook, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams to automate a common recruitment workflow.
The process will start when a recruiter sends a resource requirement through Microsoft Outlook.
For example, the email might contain requirements such as:
- 5+ years of experience
- .NET or Java skills
- Azure experience
- Immediate availability
- Specific location or work arrangement
Instead of manually reading the email and searching for candidates, our AI agent will process the request automatically.
High-Level Architecture
The solution brings together three Microsoft services:
Microsoft Outlook
Receives the resource requirement email and supports the response.
Microsoft SharePoint
Acts as the secure knowledge base containing candidate resumes and related information.
Microsoft Teams
Provides the meeting experience for discussing shortlisted candidates.
The AI agent acts as the intelligent layer connecting these services.
So the flow is like below:
Outlook → AI Agent → SharePoint Knowledge Search → Candidate Matching → Outlook Response → Teams Meeting
This architecture shows how AI can work with existing business applications instead of requiring recruiters to switch between multiple tools manually.
